About the Journal

The INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF HUMAN KINETICS, HEALTH AND EDUCATION (IJoHKHE), an official journal published by the foremost Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is a double-blind and peer-reviewed journal featuring original scientific articles based on original research as well as observations, review and opinion articles. The subject matter of the articles published in IJoHKHE covers a wide spectrum of issues connected with biomedical sciences in sport and physical activity; humanities, physical culture and physical education; public and environmental health; health sciences, education and social issues. The Editorial Board includes specialists from many regions and countries, representing various specialties, guaranteeing a high scholarly level of the published articles.

The journal is international in nature and is not limited to any geographic region as for topics or authors. The first issue of the IJoHKHE appeared in January 2015. The journal is published two times a year (June & December). It is an open access journal available at http://www.ijohkhejournals.org. Our publications are in both hardcopy and online platforms. IJoHKHE welcomes submissions all through the year.

 

GUIDELINES TO AUTHORS

The INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF HUMAN KINETICS, HEALTH AND EDUCATION (IJoHKHE) is a double-blind and peer reviewed journal publication by the foremost Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka that publishes original research findings, observations, and review articles related to biomedical sciences in sport and physical activity; humanities, physical culture and physical education; public and environmental health; health sciences, education and social issues. We publish Two times a year (June and December). Our publications are in both hardcopy and online platforms. We receive submissions all through the year.

Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts

  1. Manuscripts and References must conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition) format and must be submitted in English Language.
  2. All correspondence between authors, editors and the Editor-in-Chief will be conducted electronically via e-mail attachments.
  3. Authors must submit manuscripts to the editors who will initiate the blind review by qualified experts in the subject areas. Authors will be communicated of the Decision on their manuscripts within 38 days.
  4. Manuscripts submitted must not be published nor considered for publication in any other Journal.
  5. Manuscripts should be typed with one-half line spacing and should not exceed 7000 word count for Original articles including tables, figures and references, and 5000 word count for Review articles. The body text should be in 12-point Times New Roman.

The order for the manuscript presentation should be:

  1. Title page
  2. Abstract
  • Keywords
  1. Introduction
  2. Materials and Methods
  3. Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusions
  1. Acknowledgements
  2. References
  3. The title page includes the full title, name of author(s) (First Name, Middle Name and Last/Surname), institutional affiliation(s), running head, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number of corresponding author which should be marked with asterisk. The blind title page includes the title only.
  4. The abstract must not exceed 250 words and should summarize the manuscript, giving a clear indication of the conclusions. Keywords must be between 3-10 words
  5. All submissions must be accompanied with a cover letter, clearly stating that the manuscript is original, has not been published, and not being considered for publication elsewhere.
  6. Non-compliance with the above guidelines may disqualify the manuscript from being considered for review and possible publication. Therefore, crosscheck with the guidelines above before submission.

  8. Manuscript Processing Fee is #5,000 or $10.00. In addition, the publication fee is #20,000.00.  All financial transactions must be through the Access Bank Nig. Plc.
