THEMATIC AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS OF TWITTER (X) CONVERSATIONS ON ZERO HUNGER IN NIGERIA

This study analysed 500 tweets discussing Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) in Nigeria, collected from April 1 to June 30, 2024. Using content analysis, the research identifies key themes, including grassroots initiatives, misinformation, youth engagement, climate change, food security, government policies, advocacy, and public awareness. Sentiment analysis reveals that 35% of tweets were optimistic, highlighting success stories and advocacy, while 45% were critical, focusing on government inefficiencies and food insecurity concerns. The findings underscore the impact of digital lobbying on public perception and policy decisions, as well as the role of misinformation in shaping discourse. Achieving Zero Hunger in Nigeria requires a multifaceted approach that integrates grassroots action, government accountability, and informed online engagement.
