Keywords:
Heavy metals, Concentration, Organs, metallic chemical elementAbstract
The concentration of heavy metals in the four organs (muscle, bone, gills and liver) of Pentanemus quinquarius (shine nose) and Cynoglossus senegalensis (sole fish) was determined using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The results of the analysis
showed that Iron the highest concentration of 69.553 ppm in the liver, 26.81422 ppm in the gills and 10.583 ppm in the muscle while Zn has the highest value of 164. 196ppm in the bones for
Cynoglossus senegalenis. And for Pentanemus quinquarius, the result revealed the same trend of Fe having the highest
concentration of 65.165ppm in the liver, 28.395ppm in the gills and 9.075ppm in the muscle while Zn has the highest value of 159.38ppm in the bones.
