Abstract

This study was designed to determine the health needs and health problems of pregnant mothers (PMs) in Nkunator/Knpologu Community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu state. A cross sectional survey research design was used for the study and the instrument for data collection was questionnaire. The population of this study consists of PMs that attend anti natal health clinic at the health facility in Nkpunator/Nkpologu. 101 PMs were selected as a sample with the use of simple random sampling techniques of balloting without replacement. Data collected were analyzed using frequency and percentages to answer the research question. Result shows that physical, emotional, and socio-economic health is seriously needed among PMs in Nkpunator/Nkpologu. While inadequacy amidst them has resulted to physical, emotional and socio-economic problems among the PMs in Nkpunator/Nkpologu. The investigator among other things suggested that there should be more health facilities for the community. The Primary Health Care Authority should organize for training and retraining of health care service providers for acquaintance with recent development on PMs care.
